Shitlibs have this idea called they call the contact hypothesis where they assert that racists are just ignorant of what other people are like and that if they just had contact with them, they'd view others more positively. Like a parent telling their child "try it, you'll like it!"

Really however, these people suck and coming into contact with them causes people to dislike them. Here's the map of US scores on the implicit associations test on the top (those damn racist southerners!), and here's another map of where black people live on the bottom:

A meta-analysis of contact hypothesis studies finds that having contact with blacks reduces perceptions of injustice and reduces support for reparations:

Another contact hypothesis meta-analysis finds high publication bias with the intercept suggesting that a study with zero standard error would find a negative effect, ngl I think this is how all publication bias corrections should be done. Regular trim & fill adds studies until the correlation between effect size and standard error is p>.05; really, it should at least add them until the correlation is 0.0, and preferably it should look at the intercept instead.
